How Dr Bethany Can Help You
As a primary school teacher, you know all too well what it takes to captivate and hold the attention of young children, especially in prep to grade 2.
So someone coming to your primary school to talk about dental hygiene and oral health may be met with a little apprehension on whether the children can remain engaged.
Let’s face it, brushing your teeth and visiting a dentist is likely never going to be a child’s favourite thing to do and no one, child or adult, likes to floss. But it’s something that can help shape a child’s wellbeing well into the future. So finding a way to make dental care education fun and interactive is where Dr Bethany’s Tooth Tales shines.
It’s my mission to improve the oral health of Australian children through informative, entertaining primary school incursions. Changing the perception of dental hygiene from a chore to something rewarding. With the overall outcome of improving the health and wellbeing of young children across Australia.
Yes! Dental education can be fun
My primary school incursions encompass a healthy eating and self-care message. With my unique superpowers of being an experienced and award-winning children’s entertainer, as well as a qualified dentist and VIT registered teacher, my incursions are an enjoyable and educational way to encourage dental hygiene to be fun, rather than a chore.
The 45-minute incursion is designed to teach children about oral health, hygiene, and healthy eating. I capture the attention of the children through games, stories, songs, dances, and puppets. All while presenting enlightening lessons they will actually enjoy.
Dr Bethany’s Tooth Tales is an interactive experience where children will join in on nearly every activity. They’ll have a chance to practice their brushing and flossing skills with the puppets, and be given the opportunity to ask questions. By asking questions, it helps to develop their interest and strengthens their recently learned knowledge and skills.
At the end of the presentation each child will get their very own take home pack of goodies, with a brushing chart and lots of great info to share with their parents too. And your school or classroom gets a poster to keep as well.
