Staying Anonymous
You can browse our website anonymously. If you identify yourself to us, at that point we will collect your personal information. For example, by booking a performance with us, submitting an enquiry or requesting we send you an information pack.
Collecting personal information
At all times we try to only collect the information we need to provide our services to you.
The main way we collect personal information about you is when you give it to us, for example:
- when you contact us by phone or email or through our online booking system
- when you submit information to our website by filling in the contact form
- when you ask us for access to information we hold about you
You agree that we may keep your personal information for as long as it is required for the purpose it was collected or for an additional amount of time if we are required to do so under applicable laws.
Indirect collection
We aim to only collect information directly from you, however there are circumstances where we may also receive information from other parties. For example, if you are a minor, we may receive information about you from a parent, guardian or carer.
Collecting sensitive information
Sensitive personal information is defined as including information about your health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or criminal history.
During the delivery of our performance, we may discuss some health related information with the participants. For example, we may interactively ask the students about healthy diet choices or trips to the dentist. We do not store this information. The information is shared only for the purpose of reinforcing the educational content we deliver as part of the performance.
Social Networking Services and links to other websites
We may provide links to other websites or use social media platforms such as Facebook to communicate with the public about our services. These platforms have their own privacy policies. When you communicate with us using these platforms, we may collect your personal information. We will only use it to help us to communicate with you and the public or to promote our performance services. The social media platform will also handle your personal information for its own purposes.
Testimonials
As a regulated health profession in Australia, we are not permitted to accept testimonials from you about clinical aspects of the services we provide. We can however accept testimonials about our engagement with our audience, quality of performance and our entertainment value. If you do provide a testimonial about our performance, you agree we may edit your testimonial to remove any clinical information (if any, and provided we do not change your testimonials intention) and that we may use your name and testimonial information in our marketing, on our website or for our business purposes for as long as your testimonial remains relevant to our business.
Images for promotional content
As part of our ongoing marketing, we may arrange for photos to be provided by a centre where we have given a performance, with the intention the photos will be used on our website or in our business or marketing. We will arrange this use with written consent from the centre where the performance is taking place. If a centre publicly shares photos of our performance on social media, we may re-share those photos on our own channels without needing further consent. We will use this content for as long as it is relevant for our intended use.
How we use Cookies and other identifiers
We use a range of tools provided by third parties including search engine browsers and our web hosting company, to collect or view website traffic information. These sites have their own privacy policies. We also use cookies and session tools to improve your experience when accessing our websites.
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. Some website features may not function properly without cookies.
The information collected by these tools may include the IP address of the device you are using and information about sites that IP address has come from, the pages accessed onyx our site and the next site visited. We use the information to help to track your use of our websites to improve your user experience and the quality of our services. We may also use that information to show you advertising about our services. Security and overseas recipients
Paper records are stored securely when not in use. We use appropriate password protection for our electronic systems.
We rely on third party providers such as document management systems, text messaging services, email services and so on that may be located overseas or may have storage or processing facilities located overseas. Unfortunately, few service providers are able to offer storage facilities located in Australia only. We aim to use only reputable providers who are able to store the information you have provided to us securely.
When you use our services, you agree to the incidental transfer of your data overseas. What this means for you is that your information may be accessible in countries that have laws providing a lower level of protection of personal information use than the laws we have in Australia.
Disclosure
The information that we collect about you is used as disclosed in this policy, to provide our services, promote our services and to keep you up to date with our services. We do not publish your personal information.
We may share your personal information with our advisors for the purpose of obtaining their advice about our business (for example our accountant), with our service providers for the purpose of their delivery of services (for example IT consultants) and with our payment platform if we need to provide details about payment transactions. We will disclosure your personal information when legally compelled to do so, in cooperation with the police, or under subpoena, or otherwise in compliance with Australian privacy law.
Accessing and correcting your personal information
You may request copies of the information we hold about you. You have the ability to make a request to amend or correct that information. If we do not agree with your requested change, we will keep a copy of your request with our information. If you contact us to make a personal information request, we will need to sufficiently identify you before we can provide you with details of any information we hold about you.
Problems?
If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, please contact us using the details set out at the beginning of this privacy policy and let us know what the problem is. We will respond to your concerns within 30 days.
